You should of just got a base and riser from HI-Tech and mounted it on that. Would of been a lot cheaper. I got mine on an 18in. riser, its almost eyeball level when sittin.

A couple of years ago I built a mount to raise my bow depthfinder so it was easier to see (I'm getting old) spider rigging. I used Ram C sized components, 1.5", it was fine until I went to a HDS 8. The height and weight was too much it to hold on rough water so I've been trying to figure out what I could build that would work.
The old.
The new one uses a D size, 2.25" base and clamp with a 1.5" clamp and the mount I had on top. It's very sturdy now.

I've never seen the Hi-Tech mount, I lay this one down when I'm trailering, plus when there are two fishing it is offset some to clear the rod holders. I have $95 in this set up.
This the best pic I could find

Thanks Rickie, yes it helps these old eyes, but it's a lot easier on this old neck too. I tend to watch the depth finder a lot, with it up high all I have to do is move my eyes to the rods.
thanks wilbur,
How did you mount the HU to the riser, is there a flat mounting plate provided or did you get creative again??
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
