An enthusiast might buy 2 1198's, a 360, this new contraption and say a 101lb thrust Trolling motor that will support it. Plus any ethernet equipment that will be required I bet would put you in the neighborhood of 10K. Throw in a talon or two (which I'd like to have too), and you'll be well over 10. Viewing the 360 on a 798 will be very painful.

I didn't see any mention of all those products being needed to operate the new I-pilot system.

Great point. Most of the people that would pay $800 for this will use the cheapest ethernet equipped fish finder and whatever the cheapest compatible trolling motor is.

That's not the target audience for this product.

Agreed. Lol I just traded for it because I mainly wanted a nice little 2d sonar up front. Had a 998 and I didn't want 5 grand tied up in graphs .
The 360 as cool as it is just ain't worth it to me and I would go with the power poles instead of the talons.

I couldn't see paying 800 for it as well as having the actual I pilot . It'd basically giving you another remote as well as integrated with your mapping system if you have lake master.

I have a real nice SI/DI/2D setup but I think I had more fun and definitely caught more fish when I had a 17' Jon boat & an X-85 2D Sonar.

    Just my opinion

Great. It was just a matter of time before this stuff became available. However, I find myself using 2d more and more and not using all the cake trimmings.

Don't let my wife hear you saying stuff like that since I just bought and installed a 998c last week.
At first I was a little aggravated at this announcement because I just ordered an ipilot last week but then I realized I would need several other parts just to get it to link together and there isn't much that it will do that I can't already do with just ipilot.

I got my stuff mainly for entertainment. Hullava lot more entertaining and easier to understand than rap music.
