    Seems like I remember this problem with mine.. Try going to user mode and set it on advanced and in the sonar menu there will be a setting for salt and fresh water..try setting it on salt (shallow) and see what happens. Good luck

    After checking the power connections do some basic depth reading troubleshooting:

    1. Make sure all other electronic devices are turned off. This includes bilge pumps, other sonar units and even the main and trolling/kicker motors. This eliminates any form of interference and also lets us know if it works correctly while drifting (so the issue is or is not related to air bubbles flowing across the transducer).

    2. See if you can tie the depth reading problem to a certain water depth or unit frequency setting. In fact it is best to go ahead and reset the menus back to the factory settings to test it.

    3. Test your unit on another boat that uses a similar transducer. Many of our units use the same 2D sonar and so finding another Humminbird user to test your unit on their boat is easier to do. Remember though: the DI model units have to be tested on transducers from other DI units.
