You can usually figure out Everstart ratings by looking at Interstate ratings and matching up the numbers you know to figure out which battery it is. In most cases they are the same batteries.

100AH in a 24 is going to be a rare thing. Most are in the 75-85AH range, and some 27s are even a little shy of 100AH.

Last Wal-mart Everstart Marine Group 27 battery I got says ... 109AH (@1A/hr) (printed right on top of battery)

I'd tell you what my Group 24 Everstart marine battery said, but it's still in the boat (& I ain't going out in the rain & uncover it, unlock the back hatch, & look Rofl )

Aw come on CP I'd do it for you LOL. My problem is I have a older Ranger 1985 17 ft 10 inches w/ 1984 Yamaha 150 hp which manual says to use a 70 ah battery , But I have two Humminbirds 798's hooked together and do not want to run out of juice . Not sure if a Deepcycle 27 will do , I have two of them for the TM Little confused about starting battery and Deepcycle Trolling Motor battery ???

RR .... see if any of this helps : http://www.batteriesinaflash.com/deep-cycle-battery-faq (most especially the section titled "What are the differences between a starting and deep cycle battery?"

Not really much help in this dept., as I've only had ONE battery (Marine Deep Cycle) running everything .. on my first two boats, and my buddy's boat (that I fished out of when not having my own boat). The boat I have now is the first boat I've owned that has two batteries ... one starting (G24) & one TM (G27). Boat/motor are 1999 model (motor is 90hp Merc). Console DF is hooked to starting battery ... bow DF is hooked into TM wiring. No interference experienced. Starting battery rarely needs a recharge, as 90Merc seems to replace any charge removed for starting.

I'll get back to you on the specs of the starting battery. But, I'd go with whatever CatFan says !!

Older motors generally are easier to crank. Deep cycles usually have CCA ratings as well, and are fine for cranking on a boat if they have enough CCA. Somewhere your motor manual should give you how many CCAs you need to crank it. I'd strongly consider the Everstart 27DC-6 with 720 CCA and 180 minute RC if you have room for it.

If you have to stay with 24, Walmart also carries two 24 Marine batteries, one is starting and the other IIRC is dual-purpose, so look at numbers in the store.

After measuring the area around the starting battery , I do have room for the 27DC-6 , Thats the way I will go , Thanks CatFan.

I've got the Everstart MS24-625 in my Ranger. 625 CCA and really winds the 150EFI up. I have a small deep cycle under the console for my electronics. Just me.
