    Can the old square head autopilot be converted to ipilot..

    Not sure what you mean by square head but I do know the V-1 models cannot have i-Pilot added. V-2 models and later can have i-Pilot added.

    I believe someone put a V2 control board in the V1, the added autopilot. Can't remember who though.

    You can put an autopilot on a V-1 if you can find one. I had one on a 70lb motor I use to have but I bought mine with it. My fishin bud who passed away liked it so much he had the MK tech add it to his 55lb motor. Don't confuse autopilot with co-pilot which also can be put on a V-1

    Mine is the 2000 model which I think is a year before the round head.. I've seen somewhere where it can be done but they said the head wouldn't fit.. figured I could buy a round head off a scrap tm and use it but I wasn't sure

    My experience has been that it is almost as cheap(?) to buy a new one vs screwing with the headaches......

    Yea I'm starting to see that but I did see a thread where a guy was using his gps to direct his tm.. like to see how that turns out
