    Default terrova question

I am in the process of getting a 12 Terrova I-pilot. I currently have a motorguide on my tracker boat. Does the Terrova come with a plug of any kind or do you have to install one? If it does have a plug, where would I find a matching receptacle for my boat. I am sure my existing MG recept. won't work on the Terrova.
    Thanks

I THINK mine came with just wire and I spliced it into my existing MG plug. I really can't remember if it came with a plug or not. I do know that its spliced to my existing plug and is working well.

I had the same issue last year when I went thru this upgrade, and I just took a picture of the plug and receptcale on the MG with my cell phone, then went to the local marine dealer. They are a standard plug, my tracker pt175 had the type with a "v" notch in the plug, dealer had one for $8, spliced/attached it directly to the motor leads and used some shrink wrap to seal it it. The plug will come with short 6" leads as well, just get some good butt connectors and shrinkwrap. BPS has/had the same plug for $17, for once the dealer was a better deal.

Also get one of the "resettable" circuit breakers, find the in line fuse, and remove it, then make the ring connections for the resettable breaker. Will make it much easier if the fuse blows, just push the reset button and keep fishing. Holler if you have issues. EZPZ.

Thanks guys for the info. I tried to find a replacement plug for my MG sometime back and West Marine and Walmart did not have a match. I did not realize the MG plug was a standard one. I will check with my boat dealer and see if he has a match.
Will save me some rewiring, I thought I would have to replace the female plug on the boat. Thumbs Up
    Thanks again,

All tm's come without a plug, there is no such thing as a MG plug, that I know of. Plugs come in many different configurations, splice the old one on or get a new one. You can even splice the Tm wire to the power wire if you want, a plug is not a necessity.

OK. Maybe I should have said that I butt-spliced it into the existing plug that my old MG was plugged into. But that sounded plug wordy.
