You may need to crank up the sensitivity some. If you are fishing in clear waters you can turn the sensitivity up high and not clutter the image. I commonly run mine on 15-18 out of 20. You may also want to tinker around with different color palettes. Some palettes are at little hotter than others. No matter what you do you will find the DI is not as sensitive as the 2D sonar. However, you should still have not problem using it to find fish, bait fish, and cover. When I first started using mine I used the split screen a lot watching the 2D and DI at the same time. Now that I have gotten used to the DI I don't even both with the 2D much at all. Good luck with it and hang in there, you will get it all figured out.
