I am thinking on up grading to one. Is it worth it? Does the spot lock work ?
I looked at the review, but there are some naysayers just trying to make sure it is not cheap
and my old powerdrive still works good. The spot lock sounds like it would be great if it works as they say
Thanks in advance

you will not be sorry, great product, great company to work with, I love mine
2nd year for me with a Terrova w/Ipilot. Spotlock performed very well this past weekend in very strong winds. Was not perfect but in those winds it performed great!
Spot lock does work, but nothing will ever work as well as an anchor. You probably would still like it though, I do
I'm still learning mine but so far spot lock looks like it would be OK if you are not close to the bank and I can see where it would be very easy to break the xducer cable if mounted on the TM. I've got to redo mine so the cable runs up the slot in the side of the shaft. I think there will be a lot less chance of twisting it apart.

Spot lock has software that will not allow it to twist more than 360 degrees. I believe it is only the spot lock feature that has this. I have seen mine get to 360 stop untwist it self then adjust to hold me where I wanted
Read the manual when all else fails.Rofl Seriously, though, running the cable up the slot is very easy. It really is a two person job, though. You can protect your cable from being crushed when you stow the motor if you cut a piece of tubing, PVC, that will slip over the shaft. Only need to be about a half inch long. Notch the tubing so the cable lies in the notch. This will protect the cable when you stow the motor and bring it all the way up.
