the onboard chargers make charging 2+ batteries a lot easier than lugging them inside to charge.

So are you saying you don't have to cut the power cord to wire it to that plug.

nope. there should be 2 screws that hold the plug in place on the backside of the holder.

I'll be dang. I was thinking that was a different plug. Wish I had known about that one..I wouldn't have cut mine.

On my last boat I just ran the plug out of the rubber sleeve that the wiring and throttle and shift cables came out of.

I just keep my extension cord plugged into the charger in the battery compartment and pull the cord out when needed. Keeps my wife from snitching the cord for her weed eater.

I think there are both kinds, I was looking at the one that uses the existing plug. It is just a weatherproof topside storage pocket for the cord plug.

I didn't have to cut the power cord, it simply fits into the attachment. I'm sure hoping my warranty stay intact!

You're exactly correct. I just installed it today. there are 2 screws that hold the plug into the plastic assembly at the rear of the fitting(as shown in your picture. This turned out to be fairly simple to install. I ended up installing the charger in a rear storage compartment (near the engine). Then I just installed this fitting through the wall of that using a hole saw. Now it is easy to reach even if I have to unsnap 1 or 2 snaps from the cover. It can be easily reached when on the trailer too.

I'll try to attach some pictures soon.
