    Default Old guy learning curve

Was out yesterday with new HDS 7 Gen 2. I feel a little better about sonar settings, may need a little more OJT on colorline and sensitivity Having problems learning the GPS side. Map showed state of Virginia Called Lowrance and the lady told me to zoom in on map, This took care of my problem. Have heard alot about customer service at Lowrance. I have called several times. Those that I have talked to have been very helpful and patient. Maybe they just know that it takes us "old guys" a little more time to catch on. I am sure I went through the same learning curve with my old unit. Can't wait to get back to serious crappie fishing

When in the sonar setup screen, go to adjust and try the sensitivity at minus 3 and 73 on the colorline.

Age ain't the problem, but practice is the answer...............

Here is a jig I pulled thru some bait fish using SI/2d with overlay as a guide. Earls and my settings are close.

Cane Pole and Earl, Thanks for the sensitivity and colorline readings. I am still a little confused ,as the deepest water in the lake is 18'. Do the sensitivity readings relate to how much or how little. I am used to -3 being less than say a 30 or 40. I tried these 'settings and still had some clutter in the water column. Should I use less sensitivity because the water is not very deep. By the way I am using fish icons. Should I be using fish arches? I am getting better using the GPS and hope I get enough use out of it to justify the additional cost. I love this forum and the guys that are willing to share their knowledge and help a fellow out. After reading many post I know that you two are very knowledgable and willing to share that knowledge. Thanks again
