Default Which is the Best FF for Mounting to trolling motor

    Guys,
I need some help determining a great fish finder that will mount and EFFECTIVELY work from my powerdrive. I do want color and precise speed.
I would like to stay around $500.

Plenty of options in that price range from Humminbird and Lowrance. I have the HB 597ci HD DI mounted on my Powerdrive V2 and it works great.

Thanks Dutch, that is the main one I was looking at and really wanted some intel on how well it worked hooked directly to the trolling motor only.
Do you feel that you get good speed reading with it?

I checked it with my handheld GPS and it was accurate to .1

Would the 798c si work well off of a trolling motor mount?

Many people are getting good results with SI and/or DI on the TM..

One just has to remember that the SI/DI sonar beam shape is a thin fan shape...eminating out left and right 90 degrees to the boat's forward travel....and turning the TM can skew or distort the image on the screen...

This can be minimized by turning the TM very slowly..but still requires some image interpretation that some find as an acceptable tradeoff for having the SI/DI xducer on the TM...
