798 Sd card slot question

I have dual sd slots. Put the sd card in the right slot the diagnostics page and the card shows up. However, it will not allow me to record in that side. I can put it in the left slot and it does fine. I am testing this in simulator mode though and don't think that would make any difference. Is it supposed to do this? is the right slot for something else? Thanks.CF

That does sound wierd... Especially when the diagnostics page is recognizing the card in the right slot...

Are you going to use a Navionics mapping card..??
If you already have a Navionics mapping card.. Does the unit load the maps from the Navionics card no matter which slot it is inserted into...??

I don't have a map card Yet. Don't know what card from who I need for my area. Have also heard there is not much in the way of quality maps for my area. Albemarle Sound in Eastern NC. I guess if there is not much better mapping for my area than the unimap, then that is all I will need and there won't be an issue with the card slot.CF

If your unit is still under ...maybe you should call HB to see about getting the card slot looked at....

My 898 doesn't like the left slot for my Navionics Platinum card. when I close the door with the card in that slot it releases the card. I use the left side for regular SD cards & the right for Mapping cards.
