    Default HB and SB cards

With the sd cards, Can You safely store waypoints, recordings, snapshots and do updates on one card with no corruption of the card? If corruption is an issue, How do You deal with it? Especially corruption of updates? don't want to have to send my unit back to HB because I scrambled its brains. Is it safer to use one card for updates and another for all the other normal functions or can I get by fine with just one which is what I would prefer to do? Thanks. CF

I use one sd card to put my waypoints on so I can look at them on google earth and another sd card to update my unit. One card should be sufficient to do both though.

I forgot, I use the card I upgrade my unit with for the snapshots and recordings, I like to keep my waypoints seperate from everything else. I use a 2 gb card. Good luck.

Necessary to keep SD card data separate..??....probably not...
More to keep up with with separate cards..??...yup...

SD cards are cheap...(compared to the HB service charge)..

Why risk "scrambling the unit's brains"....??

I keep 5 SD cards with my unit at all times..

1 for curent version of software....
1 for previous version of software...
    1 for backed up waypoints...
1 with saved snapshots and recordings...
1 blank for today's snapshots and recordings...

Your choice whether you keep your stuff separate...

I like the comfort of knowing there is nothing on the software SDs that could possibly lock up my unit...

But then again, I am OCD......

I use one card for all of it. On update day, I download my waypoints (to update my laptop file), download my update from HB, leave card in the unit for next time.

While I have heard many reports on successful SD card brands... HB recommends the Sandisk Extreme III SD (or SDHC)....
