Have heard 4 gb will hold many hours of recordings. I think 8 gb would be a gracious plenty.CF

Great--thanks. Also for updates--it doesn't have to be all that big does it?

read 1 or 2 gb would hold updates just fine. That would be the way to go if You are going to buy separate cards for different things. If you are planning to use just one card, then go higher than the 8. I think You can go as high as 32.CF

HB claims their units will accept up to the 32Gb cards...

Optimal size would be more of a SD card cost factor...(higher Gb cost more)..

I would suggest at least a 2Gb if you are going to use the recording feature of the HB unit...

Recordings should be kept to less than 30 minutes each....especially if you plan on viewing recordings in Humviewer... There is a LOT of GPS data that has to be loaded into the Humviewer program to view...

You can get several 30 minute recordings on a 2Gb card....

Software updates are small in comparison to recordings... So card size for updating your unit is not really important...I think even a small 128mB card would probably work for updating software...

The largest software update that I have seen was less than 20MB in size so even an old 32MB MMC memory card could be used. Future software updates may be larger though so I would look for a larger memory card than that. I don’t think that you could easily find anything smaller than a 2GB SD memory card now, so this should not be a worry.

I don’t have a problem with PMs but since I do not always have the time to get onto CC you should send me a direct email instead (see below for email addy).
