    Default Lowrance HDS Question

I have a HDS-10, a HDS-7, & a LSS-1. Can both of these units be hooked up to the same LSS-1, or do you haft to have a LSS-1 for each unit you want to be able to run Side Imaging ? ? ?

    Hey Ck.
Both units can share the LSS-1. You just have to be aware where the puck is. The LSS-1 can be a communication hub using ethernet. Here is a link for some setups and tips. BBC Boards: Lowrance Help Topics, Contact info, Networking Diagrams Wapoint sharing with HDS models: Ethernet will share waypoints as well as NMEA 2000. But with the Ethernet you will have advanced or enhanced waypoint sharing and editing which means the two units will auto synch with each other once connected and turned on. No manual tranfers needed. This is a great feature. You can edit a waypoint on one unit and the changes are made to the other(s) automatically once they are turned on. Other units do not have to be on during waypoint creation. Once connected it will synchronize the other units.

So I can buy an additional LSS-1 Transducer, hook it up to my trolling motor, and run Side Scan from either the front or back of the boat ? ? ?

I am wanting Side Scan at the back and the front of the boat. So I can do it, I just need an additional Transducer for the trolling motor. I want to be able to pull up to a Brush Pile (from the trolling position) and look into the brush pile with Down Imaging. right now I have 1 LSS-1 Transducer on back of boat, and I am set up to read that transducer from either unit. I have got that happening now. But I want to add a LSS-1 Transducer to the Trolling Motor and be able to DI and SI from the Back AND the front of the boat. Will this require another LSS-1 or can I tie the 2 Transducers to the 1 LSS-1 unit.

Yes, BUT you have to unhook the rear transducer and hook the front transducer to the LSS-1. The LSS-1 only has provisions for one transducer. Starting today there is a $150 rebate from Lowrance on the LSS-1. If you shop wisely as LSS-1 can be had for less than $375 after the rebate.

I wanted the same set up on my boat. DI on the trolling motor. I had to purchase two bundle packs to make this happen. That means two LSS-1 units.
