Sounds like it could be connector on back of unit on GPS? Both my 1198 and 1158 will show no signal if connector is not quite in all the way. It is always the GPS, Often times I have to push in on mine just a little as it is at a slight angle and not fully engauged on the GPS Plug. I Know this sounds simple and it is but ithas happened to me more than once

    See if anything here helps.

Look at page 20 and 21...wonder if one of these options is what you selected because 2 of them ignore the interlink after initial data transfer until you power the control head back up.

well i went and looked at my accessory menu. and it says for th 957 that the interlink is on but the gps isnt. and the 997 says interlink is on along with gps temperature etc. so im thinking theres an option on there to switch to external gps. i remember seein it before and turnd it on. but it shut off or i shut it off or something. but anyhow now i cant find it. anybody know where its located?

Glad to hear you got it going. Figured it would be something simple. Just play with your settings and I bet you'll clean that picture up. Get the boat on the water and don't even think about fishing..just play and experiment...the time will be well spent. Have fun with your new toy!

So you now have an external GPS Receiver connected to the 957c unit and another external GPS Receiver connected to the 997c Si unit? This is the best connection option for your units and would require you to use the AS-YC Y-cable with each unit.

    Post those Si pics.
