Ordered an 898 today. Starting Wednesday I am supposed to be off for 7 days and can't wait to use it.

Off 7 days, 2 days shot making sure you have it mounted right, 5 left so 2 days learning how to push the buttons for the map you think you want and explaining the knot on your head to the wife about the watching where you are going. Down to 3 days now get serious about fishing OH wait a minute there is a channel I didn't know was there so you spend another day looking at that channel. Two days left so now I have to get down to business, get up in the morning and the wind is really howling so you set on the boat at home and play with the 898 all day so now you're ready because tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day for fishing. Get up and dressed and having coffee and the Mrs. says Honey you are going to spend the day with me, at least one day of your vacation pleaseeeeeeeeee.
I'll catchem next weekend but hey I did have a good vacation...... BEEN THERE DONE THAT......
I wish you better luck. Ferdi aka Fred

the Mrs. says Honey you are going to spend the day with me The day?

Did you ever consider that your Mrs. and my Mrs. could have already decided that hubbies don't have an entitlement like that?Aren't they just the sweetest things? Rest assured, it will take more than a few days vacation time...after it is installed, to absorb what one of those wonderful electronics will do. Take your time and do it right the first time, so then you won;t have to wonder why you didn't.

    Safe boating neighbor....

I can't wait to use it. I sold a bunch of toy tractors that I used to collect so I could buy it. Wish I had enough left to sell to get a new War Eagle 861.

I know what you are going through to get the nice toys. Took me a long time saving in my hidey hole before I could get each toy I have. Just enjoy them once you get them. They may not be what everyone else wants but we sure do enjoy them and they are exactly what we wanted. They do make fishing more fun. They don't make you catch more fish, mine shows me the fish I can't get to bite and that isn't fun so I am changing my fishing habits to see if that will improve the catching.
Have fun with it and good fishing. Ferdi aka Fred

Once you get it there are several good sites to look at to help you understand what you are looking at and how to set it up. One is Humminbird side imaging forums www.xumba.scholleco.com. Good luck.
