    HB,lowrance or Garmin?

    Accuracy of consumer receivers is mostly a function of the GPS satellite locations and weather conditions at the time. WAAS corrects for a good portion of those errors. Current versions of any of the three will get you just about the same accuracy.

    Tough question...I have a Humminbird and a Lowrance on my boat...So I guess I am gonna agree with CatFan!

    Garmin and Lowrance use the same chipset SIRF111, HB uses Ublox. SIRF111 uses 16 parallel channel receiver and Ublox is 50 multiplexed channels. Both get about the same results at the racetrack.

    I am referencing accuracy, not application. There is a display on the units called EPE. read it. That is the estimated position error. This reading is based on programming parameters, so don't get your get your G string too tight.

    This info is based on my last look into the units. I could be off a channel or 2. If so, then you can call this post white noise.
