    Thanks for the advice everyone. I know very little adout eletronics of any kind and never ment to open a can of worms by using the term "fish finder".

    As there are different methods of fishing...so are there different sonar features that can be utilized to aid in those fishing methods...(2d...SI...DI...GPS...color...multiple beam selections....addon possibilities..)

    Different units offer different features...

    Matching the features available in today's sonar units to your style of fishing should be the first consideration in a sonar unit decision...

    Then find a sonar unit with the features you need ...in your price range...
