That's a special edition only unit for them with DI. They built 2 Special Edition Units the 581i DI (Monochrome, GPS, 2D/Di) and the 587ci DI (Color, GPS, 2D/Di) these are similar to the other 500 Series Units with DI but added some features for Black Friday Specials and Retailers.

I just got off the phone with cabelas. Initially they told me over the phone the price was 349.99. After mentioning I heard it was on sale for 249.99 they stated they would sell it at this price. Does anyone have any experience with these things? Is it worth the money? It says navionics compatible. Would this unit come with any gps software or lake info loaded or would I have to buy the Navionics chip as well? Thanks

Let's see if this works. This is the ONLY was I was able to link to a product description page; through my order. It supposedly comes with a 'base' map, which I assume would be very basic. I'm almost to the point to where I wish I would've saved up for a 700 series so I could actually see the bottom/structure (Dual Beam PLUS) returns at the wider cone instead of just the fish echos. I guess I can always return it. I am curious to see how the DI works though.

Well scratch that. I can't make sense of it. Now it looks like the 581 has the DualBeam Plus...still not sure if it returns strcture though. My unit has shipped and it's supposed to be in the 50's here so maybe I'll just have to go see what I got.

The difference in the "Dual Beam" and the "Dual Beam Plus".....

"Dual Beam Plus" has selectable 83kHz or 200kHz or 83kHz/200kHz...

"Dual Beam" has 83kHz/200kHz...(blended beam setting only)...

Any 2d sonar should show structure echos...

I just tried to order this on the phone with Cabelas and they would not come off the $349 price. Is it still a good deal at $349?

Go to Cabela's website. Select Kansas City store as location. View the "12 Million Dollar Firearm Blowout Sale..." Go to page 14. Supposed to be good through the 29th. Also says same great price in-store or online...

The 581i DI unit should have the same specs As the 570 DI model plus the GPS stuff (internal GPS Receiver, additional waypoint, track and routes capability, plus mapping and can use the LakeMaster and Navionics mapping cards). It has the same two 2D sonar beams and the same two DI sonar beams as does the 570 DI model.

Direct e-mail me if you would like a an electronic copy of the operations manual.
