I understand that but I was wonderin if there's a way to tell let's say it shows up in the 83khz beam is there a way to tell where it's at in that beam Ie left or rightside of the boat

This is the Dual Beam that comes with the 570 portable...
It is only possible to know that any echos are in the sonar cone... Somewhere
If the echo shows in the 200khz beam... That echo is most likely directly under the xducer...

There is no such thing as a fishfinder. Fishfinder is a pseudo-synonym for sonar.

Ok well I did some comparing side scan Is out of the question and one of our member is gonna sell me his garmin 400c in the classifieds same sonar type but has the color screen which I like so I guess il see if I can figure this technology thing out lol thank u guys so much u really are the most knowledgable and helpful group of people I've talked to in a long time crappie.com rules because of it's members
