I'm a humminbird person that just changed to all Lowrance. I have a HDS 7 on the dash, and 5 and a 527c on the bow. I have the structure scan and the 2 HDS units are linked via the ethernet. All 3 are linked by the NMEA 2000 network. I am planning on using the 527 as a chartplotter only. I have the SS and the 2D transducers both mounted on the rear of the boat. I have only been on the water one time. The structure scan is visible on both HDS units, and the 2D is visible on the HDS 7 only (where I have the transducer cable connected). I assumed, incorrectly as usual, that the ethernet would carry the 2D signal as well as the SS signal. Does Lowrance have a Y cable so I can see the rear 2D transducer that the dash mounted unit sees? I would like to use the overlay feature on both units if possible.
Also can someone provide me with some generic settings on both 2D and stucture scan? I mainly fish Reelfoot, but occasionally make it to MS to fish Sardis and Grenada, if that helps with how my settings need to be set.
Thanks in advance for the help.
