    Default Lowrance, bad ethernet cable????????

Anyone ever had a bad ethernet cable straight out of the pack?

I hooked up a 2nd HDS unit and it kept reading "No Source" on the SI/DI screens. I though what the heck, it's all new I must have done something. After an hour or 2 of fishing, the SI/DI finally came on. I though maybe it had to wake up or it just took some time to recognize the signal. (that didn't make sense though)

I took the boat out again yesterday for the 3rd time since hooking up the 2nd unit and no SI/DI on the 2nd unit. I reached up under the console and moved the e-cable where it went into the plug and it got a signal. If I wiggled it, the signal would come and go as I wiggled it. It just didn't want to stay connected. I switched ports it was plugged into to rule out the LSS1 having a bad plug in port and pretty much got the same results.

One other thing, on my original unit I lost the water temp. Instead of numbers, I have 2 lines where the numbers should be, like this _ _. It was fine before I added the 2nd unit. Yesterday I noticed the temp would come and go which would have me believe it would have to be a bad connection somewhere. The temp does show up on my 2nd unit. Any ideas?

Sure you can get a bad cable. I'd contact Lowrance for a replacement.
