Are you backing the plastic with something when you drill?
I usually do so with a bit of scrap wood.

Since I am working on some home projects, I thought I would share this hint. I use a wood bit for cutting holes in abs plastic. Works great.

best thing I have found is a step bit, perfect hole everytime.
