    Default Mounted my new HDS

I mounted the new 8 on the bow and moved the 7 to the console.

Look good! What mount do you have on the bow? I would like to get my Bird up higher.

I made that mount last year, it uses two Ram clamps, a base and the base that the DF mounts to. The extension between the two clamps is a piece of aluminum tube with 1/2" aluminum plugs welded in the ends then drilled and tapped for the balls. This one has 1 1/2" balls but I'm afraid that the 8 will need 2 1/4" balls so I may have to make another one.

It is much better mounted up high than on the floor, it's easier to read and make adjustments, plus it's easier on my neck watching it.

Looks good. I just put a 7 up front in my boat. I like the raised mount.....I can see a change coming.

Hopefully the lakes will be settled down and my shoulder will heal enough to do some fishing soon.

I'm going to try mine out for the 1st time on Tuesday, the weather is supposed to be pretty decent up here. I can definitley see the advantage of that high mount.
