Has anyone experimented with some kind of alternate mount to keep the transducer in the front, but not connected to the tm?

A while back there was a software release that was supposed to help counter the interference from trolling motors. If your unit has the latest software it should have this update unless your unit has not received it yet. I would have to know what model unit we are talking about here.

I am running the latest updates on all of my units. So I should have that already. 1198, 788di, 997

I read in another thread where a feller thinks his interference issue may be caused by his "on board charger".... Do you have an on board charger....?? Rickie

I would wonder how an onboard charger could generate noise when it isn't plugged in??

I don't think it was causing the interference. It was back feeding from the TM batteries through the charger to the battery that the electronics were hooked to. From my understanding the interference went away when the battery that was running the df was unhooked from the charger.

Yea.. Does not make sense to me either but his words sure sounds like it had something to do with the on board charger...Here's his latest post from that thread...

Sound good but I think I have found the problem. I hooked direct to start batt the unhook the onboard charger. I turn clear again then I try hooking it up again , so I connect cable to onboard charger it messed up again. I'm headed to lake to test. I'll update and don't understand Why this happen

I do have an onboard charger. However, I have unhooked everything and just had depth finder hooked up to battery sitting on deck and trolling motor hooked up to it's own battery. No wires crossing or anything. Still had the same problem. So I have ruled out the interlink and the charger as sources.
