Greg helped me out several times. He did what he could for me at that time. I am not upset with HB or anything. They offered as much help as they could. My particular set up is just harder to crack. Plus when I get my Happy Troller plate I will be able to slow it down and use big motor to to search the deep for those large cars. I point the finger at minn kota ha ha ha . JK on that one. Humminbird did recommend that I check back with them over time to see they had any new fixes. May be time to do that.

Good article indeed. I found one simular previously when I was on the hunt to fix my problem. However, it did not provide an overview at the end like this one. Number 6 answers my question about why it only happends in deeper water.

I really hope you are able to track this interference down so you can get the most benefit out of your unit..

Forgive me if I seem persistent in your issue..(I despise interference)...did you install a ground wire from the TM foot pedal to the skeg...??

No problem. I welcome the thoughts. May give me an idea I have not tried. I did run the wire to the skeg but no help. I read where one person ran a wire from the skeg to the positive. That just does not sound like something I want to try. You got any thoughts on that one?

The skeg of your trolling motor should be at the same potential as the boat’s ground and therefore the negative connection to the trolling motor. I think that if you did that you would let all of the magic smoke out of your batteries and trolling motor – and when the smoke and flames died down you would be really disappointed…

Greg is right DON'T DO IT! It would be the same effect as hooking jumper cables backwards. You could potentally ruin a bunch of expensive electronic equipment.
