Trolling around today and ran across this - What do you think it is on the far right of the 2d?
To me it looked like a bait pod sitting at the top of submerged timber. Then I looked at my other screen and saw this -
Seeing that horizontal tree top allowed me to keep moving and not waste any time there. I thought this was a nice picture so I decided to share. Now if I could just find a cure for this darn TM interference.![]()

What have you tried so far to find your interference problem..??
Is it just when you run the TM...??

wich unit is that taken from, that is real neat pic, have you always had interference or is it a recent problem, dont they make a transducer with a shielded cable to take care of this. maybe your cord has a wear place in it.
Cool pics. Thanks. I am curious as to if those tree branches are floating or conected to some thing. Hard to believe there were not any fish hanging around that too.

The interference has been around for a long time. I have went through every fix off of every forum and worked with Humminbird as best as they could. It is much better than it use to be. It only happens when I am on the trolling motor. But more than that it only gets really bad when I get in water 40 plus feet. I can be in the shallows and watch it kick up as I move out into the deeper stuff. As I rarely fish that deep for crappie it is not as big of an issue as it use to be. When I am fishing for stripers I just run 2d and map most of the time. I am going to get a trolling plate to slow down my big motor at some point to help out there. The 2d image came from my 1198 and the di image came from the 788 I just installed on Friday. I was unhappy with the image quality of the di from si conversion. 2d would always show stuff that I was not picking up on the di conversion. I must say that I am happy with the quality of the di only unit. The things it showed was spot on with the 2d and it beat the pants off of the di on the 1198. Also, the 1198 would show things under the boat that the 788 did not. Those things were clearly off to the side more than under. That tree looks to be supported by the standing timber. Looks like it sunk until it got wedged in to me. I don't think there will be many crappie on that spot because it is located in striper land. They run in and out of that area a lot. I do have a way point there and I will be checking .
