    Cool Is it availiable

I have a Lowrance X-510C depthfinder on my Tracker PF 17 stick steer boat. I have a transducer on the transom and on the trolling motor and a switch to go from one transducer to the other. Can you buy a depthfinder with down imaging, side scan and 2d WITHOUT THE GPS COMBO I cannot see where I would EVER get the benefits equal to the cost. I fish local ponds, rivers, and lakes that I have fished for years and know very well. Iam sure there are others who fall in this catogry, who do not need or want a gps system. If they dont make them they should. If they dont make them , I will wait until they do. Thanks for any input or suggestions.

Sidescan wouldn't do you much good without GPS.

Humminbird makes a 2D plus downscan model. 596 is the number I think. Lowrance makes a downscan model without GPS, but it doesn't have 2D. Just downscan only.

Shellback, and Cane Pole- Thanks for you comments. Does the DI and 2D work good on the trolling motor or is there a problem with DI and the difference in cone angle. Thanks again guys

Humminbird has both the 570DI (monochrome with down imaging.. no GPS) and the 596c HD DI (color with down imaging...no GPS). In order to get side/down imaging, you would have to move up to the 798ci Si and you're looking at almost twice the price of the 596C and the 798ci Si comes with internal GPS.

Not sure about that. I don't use a trolling motor transducer, but I imagine it would work fine.

If you spending the money on side scan get the gps. Thats like getting a hot dog with no bun or sauce. Unless you have seen the bodies of water dry,,trust me there are things out there that would surprise you. See it on the sidescan and cursor over it, hit the waypoint button,,look at the map and go fish your waypoint. Its that simple. Without the gps you will spend all your time trying to find what you just saw.
