Is this normal?? Or should the map automatically pop up at my current location? Every other gps I've ever used took me to my current location on the map.
My chart screen pops up at my current location, wherever that is. What settings do you have turned on, that may affect the chart screen/GPS reading ??

Hmm. I guess I will need to check all the settings. But, since yours pops up at your current location that tells me something wasn't right about mine. Thanks!

I took this screenshot by placing the blank micro sd card in the unit, setting the sonar on "simulate" & dialed in one of my waypoints on the chart, then simply pushing the "power" button & then the "+" (zoom/MOB) button.

I removed the card from the unit, put it back into the flashdrive reader, plugged it into a usb port on my computer, and imported it into my picture files.

Then I opened up this thread & used the "Insert Image" icon to download the image onto this message box.

This is the resulting image :

I just wanted to see, for myself, what this process would produce ... and to show other owners. So, now that I know that it works, and how it's done, I can share screenshots .... and not have to fumble around with a camera

Thanks for posting this Pappy. I just got my SD card & have downloaded the 3.6 update but haven't loaded them on my Elite 5 yet. I'm so ready to get the boat out of the barn & start playing with this thing. Hope to post some good screen shots of what I find in the waters I fish.

Well, I'm not real happy with my unit. It was delivered on Tuesday and I spent Tuesday and Wednesday nights running the cable and wiring for both a transom mount and trolling motor mount transducer for it. I got it all buttoned up about 10 pm last night and figured that I would turn it on and mess with it a little bit before going to bed but much to my dismay.... the head unit is DOA. It never even flickered. I have power at both plugs but get nothing regardless of how long you hold the power button.

I guess today I get to deal with Gander Mountain and or Lowrance on a brand new, dead in the box unit that I was planning on using this weekend.

To turn the unit on or off press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.

You can press and hold the power button on this unit for 3 minutes if you like and it doesn't change the outcome.....

Quacker ... if you've got good power going through the power/tdx cord, and the cord is plugged & locked securely into the back of the unit ... and it still won't come on --- I'd be sending/taking it back ASAP !! There's obviously something not right with the unit head.
