    Not quite true. This is an old wives tale. At one time many years ago batteries were encased in rubber. Had probs then, but long since gone.

    Not quite true. This is an old wives tale. At one time many years ago batteries were encased in rubber. Had probs then, but long since gone.
    I think this dates back to when Battery cases were made of wood.

    The problem with storing them on concrete today during winter is the how cold concrete gets and stays in cold climates on batteries not in ideal state. If your battery is fully charged and water and the specific gravity are good the concrete does not do much.
