    Default HDS Zoom Test Results

Todays tests using 2 HDS7s and 2 HDS8s. Same results.

    HDS7 Base Map

    1. Initial power up
      a. zoom in 50 ft max
      b. soft reset unit
      c. zoom in 20 ft
    2. 1 panel = zoom 20ft
    3. 2 panel = zoom 20ft
    4. 3 panel = zoom 50ft

    HDS7 Navionics Premium East Chip

      1. Power up zoom 50ft
      2. 1 panel = zoom 50ft
      3. 2 panel = zoom 50 ft
      4. 3 panel = zoom 50 ft

    HDS7 Insight Map

            1. 1 panel = zoom 20ft
            2. 2 panel = zoom 20ft
            3. 3 panel = zoom 50ft

    HDS8 Insight Map

                1. 1 panel = zoom 20ft
                2. 2 panel = zoom 20ft
                3. 3 panel = zoom 50ft
                4. 4 panel = zoom 50ft

    HDS8 Navionics Premium East

                  1. 1 panel = zoom 50ft
                  2. 2 panel = zoom 50ft
                  3. 3 panel = zoom 50ft
                  4. 4 panel = zoom 50ft

    NOTES

    1. After removing the Navionics Premium East Chip from the HDS7 with base map, I had to do a soft reset to be able to return to a 20 foot zoom.
    2. Another method to et zoom back to 20 foot on Base Map after removing Navionics chip was to
place the unit in the simulator mode then exit the simulator mode. This maneuver allowed the HDS7 Base Map unit to return to 20 foot zoom.

    3. Billbob's HDS7 would only Zoom in 100ft with Navionics Chip. Soft reset restored to normal zoom (50ft).

I copied and pasted this info from Open Office Text Program. Looks like something didn't work too good with the type format?????

50 foot zoom limit on a 200 dollar map SD sucks.

This morning, we fired billbob's HDS8 up. Navionics SD installed. Zoom would only go to 100ft. Had to soft reset to get zoom 50 foot.

This was verified by putting his Navionics SD in my HDS8 and getting the same results.
