I am going to upgrade my trolling motor. I have a 16' deep v Lund. I am going to get a bow mount folding type hand controlled type unit. I was wondering if anyone knows how long of a shaft I will need? Is 55# thrust enough or will I need more? I fish Kansas and Missouri where the wind can always be a challenge.
Does anyone have a good used unit like this for sale?
Thanks

GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
I have a 16ft deep v smoker craft, I just put a new I-pilot on, I got the 60in shaft, 70lb thrust.....I have a friend who has a deep v tracker and has a 55lb thrust that he likes very well...check cabelas, they have the I-pilots (not the super brand new version) on sale....if you go 70lb thrust def try and get var speed....I can make mine crawl at .2 or go close to 3mph, very good spread....wind in a deep v can stink, thats why I went with the 70lb

when you say hand control.....do you mean like remote (wireless) or tiller type handle....I took a tiller handle, 70lb thrust, var speed, 60in shaft, kota off mine
