    Default Side imaging chart speed


    I have 998 new to it if I'm idling round 3.5 mph what should I set my chart speed at if u would please give me some tips on adjusting the chart speed to mph

    i have mine set at 8---not sure if that is best--i play around with the speed from time to time.

    Chart speed should be the same or a tad bit higher than your GPS speed, i.e. if you are running the boat at 3.5 mph set your chart speed at 4.

    +1.... Exactly right.... Chart speed is the most important setting for clear crisp images...

    +2...Majority of the time I have mine set at 4 because I like to graph at about 3.5-3.9 mph. Whatever your ground speed is, round up to get your setting, or at least a real good starting point. This is one case where faster is not better - I had to learn the hard way

    at that speed 3 or 4 will do you just fine.
