I have a Basstracker PF-16 Stick Steering. At 15'10" it's not all that big of a rig. I'm really serious about putting a Terrova with I-Pilot on my boat. My concerns are trolling fast between stakebeds that may be 100 to 200 yards apart and I plan on getting into trolling crankbaits more often.
My question is would the 12 volt 55 thrust be enough and last all morning trolling 1.8 -2 mph or would the 24 volt 80 thrust be a better choice?
There is about a 200.00 difference in price. Not a deciding factor to me I just want to select the right motor for what I want to do.
Thanks,
Dave

I have the 80lb 24 v on a bass tracker 175 it will move pretty fast on high
You should only have to add a battery and wire them up for 24v.Thats all I did and it works fine.

I used a 55 lb 12 volt on a 15.5 foot Boston Whaler. It goes 3 mph on high and I have never run the battery down in a day trolling. I would not trade it straight across for the bigger one. I think the 55 would do fine on your boat.
most 12V motors have 5 speeds, I think you would be better served with the 24V with varible speed especially if you spider rig, just gives you better control
The 12 volt terrova is full variable speed with maximizer just like the 24 volt ones.
