    Can someone tell me which ram mount you feel would be the best for the HB 898?

    D sized ram, which is a 2.25" ball. Giant!

    Specifically, Ram D-111-U is the universal mount.

    With and 898 you can get away with the smaller 1.5" ball, but it will slip in rough water....with an expensive unit, you'd be better off with the D though.

    The RAM-111U / 1.5" ball will work fine in most situations but for rough water, I would recommend the RAM-D-111U-C / 2.25" ball. It's about twice the price but worth it.
