    Default Squeaky trolling motor

Probly been asked and answered a million times, but what are some things to do for a squeaky TM? I've got a maxxum 55 that is starting to make a little squealing noise when I turn slowly. Silicon spray between the shaft and collar?

Haven't even really looked at it yet. Thought I'd get some advice before just hosin it down with used motor oil. :D lol.

Probably all you need to do is loosen the collar and clean the surface real good. Lubing it would defeat the purpose of the adjustment.

Also check for a bent prop pin.

When mine does that, I have the collar nut too tight...

Think it's the collar nut. The noise is related to the shaft turning whether the prop is turning or not. Haven't had a chance to investigate. Will look at it tomorrow.
