    Unless I can find a marine battery small enough to fit in my kayak hatch, I'll just have to enjoy paddling long distances for the moment. Jigflinger says he has one that is the size of a lawn battery, so I'll check that out and see what's up. Thank you sir!!

    Yep! It's a Stowaway Marine Deep Cycle 40. It works really well in my Pelican 10 footer. Should be great in a yak. My FIL used one for years in a 14ft Jon using a 25# MG. WalMart doesn't carry it. Any Stowaway dealer should be able to get it. I got mine at Academy Sports. $50.00.
