    Default Universal Sonar 2

Hey all... who out there is using the Universal Sonar 2 transducer that's built into the nose of the Minn-Kota TM's? How do you like it? Any concerns about their ruggedness?

I have had no problems what so ever!

Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

I had interference problems with mine. The dual beam transducer that came with my 'bird is far superior to the us2 anyway, so I installed it.

Don't know if the transducer quality is the best, but it sure is a clean setup.

Yes interference is what I had when I first put my Mk 80 on with my old 565 but had the old power cord with it and Hb sent me a new one with the coil and as of now can't tell much diff. in the old & new TD, works great ! and as said clean setup, really like it, but if I go with the SI on the TM will have to do it the old way,Oh also had to replace a blown fuse in the head of the TM, found that out on a thread here , Thanks

Yea that's what I was interested in also was the simple set-up anc uncluttered wiring. It gives me a depth from the front of the boat and should work well with the better quality finder/transducer in the back. Thanx for everyones input will post later on how I like it.

I use mine with the HDS Lowrance, and I had to add the adapter as well, but I have had 0 problems and no issues at all with it. Works Great for me.

I've only used mine a few times on my HB788C but it seems to work great with zero interference issues. Sure beats the crap out of worrying about twisting up external transducer cables I had on my PD55.

I have it and no problems at all,,,, although I agree with feelay the factory ones made just for the unit your are using seem to be a little more sensitive... but all in all I really like the ease of use...
