    Default Battery charging question

When 2 12 volt are in parallel, for the 12v trolling motor, can they be charged that way or should they be charged individually?

Short answer is yes and should not be any problems if they are same type and age. I would suggest that if you have a meter or can borrow on, charge them then disconnect the round jumper, let sit for about 30 minutes and check voltage on each battery. If they are close then everything is ok.

Its best to charge with a onboard charger with a bank for each battery. Charging a parallel set up with a single bank charger , it will take twice as long to charge.

I'd want to use 10A or more to handle parallel batteries. 5A split between two is far from ideal. Either two 5, 10 or 15A banks or a single 10 or 15A bank is what I'd recommend.

    Thank you.
I just checked my charger and I have a 15A capacity so that is what I will use.
Also checking the charge is good advise.
