Question Mounting an SI on a Suntracker Pontoon

I need to know what kind of issues I may run into by mounting an SI on my suntracker. The mounting bracket is on the left toon, so I understand I may have to trim my motor up?

    Any pictures out there?

    Thanks

Just finished last month putting a hds 7 si on my basstracker 20 foot pontoon. yes, depending on how far away from your transom and si your motor sits, you may have to raise your motor to see 1 side.
i have one transducer on 1 toon and the si on the other. had another bracket made for the toon to mount it on. if you have hds then you may want to figure out how to mount them closer together on one toon for overlay display(a extra feature with hds lowrance units.you may want after you have everything finished visit our thread lowrance interrperations and discussions, just to discuss your si even if its another model, everyone welcome

Hello, I have a 24 ft. suncruiser and I mounted my 898 si on the left side pontoon looking back toward the motor. I have only noticed a problem with side scan when I am running faster than 8 mph. and then I don't use side scan anyway.

thanks for the info. I'm assuming that since the motor pod is extended there isnt an issue with the motor getting in the way. What about the other toon? Notice any interferance?

Oh, and mine is a 22 foot fishing barge

Treebass, From looking at your picture my motor sits in closer to the pontoons than yours so I feel you will be ok. I did have to add a small plate to the bracket on my pontoon to lower my transducer below the pontoon and put it into good water. I dropped it about 3 in. below the bottom of the pontoon. I haven't noticed any problems at slower speeds, but I will pay more attention tomorrow when I go fishing. I am planning to troll tomorrow for walleye so I will be using the sidescan a lot. Good luck.

Thanks, I'd be interested in seein if you notice any difference. My bracket is on the left toon as well. Thought about finding someone with the know how to weld a bracket on the right if needed, but would rather not.

    Good luck catchin and thanks

I had a problem with mine losing signal after I got up to around 8 mph. so I tilted my transducer just slightly to the front of the boat rather than level when it was sitting in the water and that solved that problem and everything will work at all speeds now.Good luck and I think you will really like the sonar.
