Sounds like money is your limiting factor here (as it is in my house… at least that’s what the Wifey says) but what are your sonar needs?
thanks hummingbird greg i was just wondering if the down image has the same problem with the doughnut
jackie1954,
All of our units share the same basic GPS. So yes we show a circle when the unit is not certain of what direction the boat is heading.
I just bought the HB 570DI because it has the DI and 2D, and the Lowrance in the same price range didn't. I know its the lowest price DI finder, and I haven't been on the water to try it yet, but everyone I talked to said to get the one with DI and 2D. I''m heading out tomorrow for a weekend of fishing, so I hope it works as well as I am anticipating.
I bought the HB 581si Is anyone having any problems or comments on this unit?
Wishin I was Fishin
If seeing you jig in 2D sonar is important, I'd say buy a cheap 2d unit. If you want to see what's under the boat, or how many branches are on a tree under water buy a DI unit. DI is HDTV and 2D is Atari. Seriously, you just don't need both, unless you have to have fishid. In that case I'd have to ask if you are ready for 2D. Just my opinion. Lowrance has the edge on GPS.
Humminbird for the 2d aspect.
