    Default New Battery !

Just pick up new battery for my Truck , old one was almost 5 years old , The shop checked the chargeing system ect. But when I checked the battery voltage this morning it was only 12.33 ??? should it not be at least 12.65 or so , my boat batteries after charging are 12.70 or better , even after sitting over night ????

Your truck battery should be about 12.6 volts when fully charged. Sounds like your battery is about 70-80% charged. Did you drive it far enough to charge it up? Deep Cell batteries read higher - 12.7 or so, and AGM is even higher. The shop may not have charged it up.

Just bought a new start battery for the boat. Put my 5 amp charger on it and it only showed 50% charge. I let it charge till full.
I don't think new bats come fully charged.

New batteries SHOULD be nearly fully charged. A low battery indicates it has been sitting on the shelf for too long.
