How about a Vexilar FL-12 flasher (Vexilar, Inc.)?

I am a old man who really enjoys crappie fishing. I fished for years without using anything, but another old man showed me how to use a flasher unitd unit when they first hit the market, and since that time I was hooked. I know how to read it backwards and forwards and can find brush piles and crappie without fail, but these new things are hard as Japanese arithmatic to understand. The older you get the harder it becomes to understand these new gaggets.
I have a Lowrance 2160 flasher that needs some work done on it, but can't get or find anyone to work on it. So, I bought a Gorman 240 and I can't find my big butt with both hands with this darn thing.
Can someone PLEASE tell this old man what simple device that I can buy to be able to find a brush pile and be able to watch my jig go down to the strick zone?
Don't laugh, you will be old to someday.![]()

How old is your Garmin? I have an older 240, it has a flasher mode available. See pg 19 of the manual; here's a link to download one for free it if you don't have one.

Thanks for the response, I have tried to use it , but it just AIN"T the same. The old flasher I have and used for years will blink when there is fish on the brush pile. Blink may not be the correct word and I don't know how to describe either, but it just acts different when there is fish on the brush. I may play with it and try to increase the resolution. I guess with me because of my age, I hate change most of the time. If it works, leave it along.
Thanks again,
Jim
