Default What am I looking at? Sonar interpretation..

So I posted a thread in the general section about some general fishing questions. However I wanted to post some screenshots of what I was seeing on my depth finder while fishing. I wasn't at all sure what I was seeing, nor do I know if it even shows fish properly. Its a el-cheapo Eagle Cuda 300, purchased to try and just see depth + structure.

Here are some photos if someone could attempt to tell me what I am looking at in some of them? I was trolling a steep embankment that drops off from 6-12 feet rather sharply to 25ft max. I couldn't tell if I was seeing brush piles, fish, or anything.

Looks maybe like a little laydown or possibly a fish on the very bottom. I would say definitely fish in the middle of the screen with maybe baitfish to the right. Just a guess.
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

4th and 5th look like a brushpile to me, second one could be a ball of bait, 3rd one looks like fish near the bottom, 7 and 9 look like bait to me also. Just my opinion.

Most any graph will show you enough detail IF you learn to interpet what you are seeing. You really need to view my DVD on graph reading. Send me your mailing address and I will send you a copy. If you like it and want to keep it then send me $XX.00. If not then just send it back to me. I trust all Crappie fishermen.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I'm not sure what exactly you're asking. The video covers several different units, both regular sonar and side scan units.

    Eagle, Lowrance and Humminbird.
    Good fishing.

i have a cuda 300 on my boat. i will be replacing it shortly.looks to me as pic #1 baitfish,#2 bait ball,#3 fish probably sandies the way they are forming,#4brush with a bait ball on top,#5brush pile,#6 fish, #7bait,#8 fish,#9 floating vegatation or bait. hope this helps. turn you sensativity up and down when you find something on bottom.i usaully run my sensitivity at 90% with the chart speed at max.its not a bad locator for the price but i am fixing to get a down or side scan unit shortly.

I highly recommend Ernests DVD. I have a copy, it is very infomative and worth his asking price.

I have seen a couple of the instructional video's from Bruce Sampson. He uses all Lowrance Products. In case you are wanting Eagle/Lowrance specific training.
