Doh I have a 1198 and purchased the weather antenna and paid for the sudscription. I know the activation worked as in the veiw mode I have the icon and the bars and in the accesoires I have wx weather in the drop down. Problem is as I,m going down the lake all different advisories keeep popping up an its a clear day and I can,t change the veiws unless I exit out of them. Its really getting annoying. Anybody have any ideas????

What are your warnings? I've noticed in the past on windy days, that I would get multiple red flag warnings and yep, ya gotta hit exit to get it off the screen.

Once, on a clear day, we got a lightning warning. Went to the weather page and saw a storm approaching. 10-15 minutes after we landed the boat, lightening hit a beach area near the landing, killed a little girl. We didn't know it at the time, found out when we got home.

Of all the stuff I've bought for fishing, that is the only one that my wife thinks is worth the money spent.

It really sounds like your alert area is set too high. But I don't know MO, but I doubt 60 mile radius would get you a thunder storm, blizzard and tornado.

Call HB. I've had mine for about a year and except for the repetitive warnings for my area of interest, haven't had a problem. I would prefer to acknowledge once a red flag warning and be done with it. Probably my only complaint.

Yes, it is suppose to warm you of any serve weather in your area it uses the gps and a satelite to track your location for bad weather.Under the veiw mode it creates a weather screen, that shows your location and the storms location. If you have gps on your humminbird unit you can purchase the antenna and a y cable that the weather antena and the gps goes into the gps port on the back of the unit for about 183 on ebay verus 225 at humminbird or dealers. the subscription is about 120 a year
