    Default Humminbird - Please Explain!

While writing a review on the new 788ci HD DI combo by Humminbird, I found two images on the box that make absolutely no sense to me whatsoever.

Has Humminbird revolutionized the sound wave and it's properties as we know it?

In this image it appears as if the sound wave shoots out to the side (along. the surface of the water), then at a certain point it appears to take a 65 degree bend heading for the seabed.

In this image it appears as if DI has two beams, one straight down, and then another that runs out to the left, right AND down, like a curtain??

Like you said, you took this picture from package box, and there is no enough room for showing the whole scan beam. It was shown this way just for simplicity. Take it easy, nobody is going to violate the laws of physics (sorry for my bad English).
