Also, I wanted to add that the blank area jumps to as much as 50-60% (didn't happen on these though) of the screen and has no memory trail. Even if it stopped reading due to a change in depth on side imaging wouldn't it still show what was there previously rather than make the whole bottom of the screen go blank.?

Another thought just occurred to me and some questions.
First, just based on the images you uploaded, does this mean you never saw a blank space when viewing the recordings? I am sure that I went back and watched them on my unit at the lake to make sure that it was recording the blank areas. It just seems that by you asking "is this what you mean by.." that you didn't actually view the same thing that I did.
My question is related to pictures. Do snapshots record all data also or only what you are viewing on the screen?
How did you get those screenshots that you posted? Perhaps I can figure out how to post a picture of what I am seeing?
Again, thanks so much for the help.

    AZfisherdude,
I did not see what I thought you were describing as “blank areas” and so posted the images of what I thought you may have been mistaking these for. Other than areas like I showed I did not see anything else that I thought was a blank area.

A Screen Snapshot is a picture of what you are actually seeing on the display of the unit at that time. So if you don’t want GPS coordinates to be shown, than set the menu selections so these are not shown (or photoshop over them). If you take a Screen Snapshot while a menu is being displayed, than the menu will be shown in the resulting image.

While reviewing your Sonar Recordings I just set the Screen Snapshot menu to “On” and than used the MARK button to save the image I wanted – just like you do while on the water.

OK, I am going to look at the files again on my unit and see if I can take a picture of what I am talking about. Your not seeing it is confirming to me that there may be something wrong with my actual unit. We'll see if I can manage to follow your instructions to take a snapshot of the recording view. Also, on my next trip out I will take snapshots of what I am talking about as it occurs.
