Gotcha. There is continuity from the fuse holder to the shaft also, so it looks like everything is bonded together as long as the fuse is good.

I have a wedding to attend today in Franklin but I'll dive back into this problem here in a few days. I want the noise gone before I head to Beaver Creek. Don't want to hear any grief from that crew I'll be fishing with in a couple weeks. :D

Cane , went out and rechecked found I still had the 565 on at time of check yesterday and so the 51 ohms, today 1.5 ohms with unit off and 51 ohms on, Dumb me but like everyone getting old !lol, But still have some black lines at bottom of screen about 2" high at some speeds on TM, like every other one on Ipilot remote, is there something that I can get to reduce this? or will I have to live with it using the US2 ? some of the lines come and go and some stay at diff. speeds don"t remember them before the fuse opened up but they are here now , THANKS

    1. Check the strength of your ground. It should be close to what the reading is for when you touch the probes together. (resistance)

    2. Check for corrosion on the terminals and where the wire connects to the terminal connector, and if the cables are stranded check for corrosion in the wires (If there is corrosion present where the insulation starts there may be corrosion on up under the insulation). I had this problem on one of my trucks (yrs ago). This can cause a poor connection through poor conductivity.

The noise could be PWM noise or commutation noise or both or EMI or RFI. Try one of these 2 chokes. They are 2 piece ferrite from Radio Shack. Might help some. Removing noise is scientific guessing. Swags. You gotta match the choke filter to the noise frequncy, then poof!!!!!!no mo noise.

Cane put the chokes on didn't see any difference in noise , tried it a alot of ways same noise , seems like every 1/2 speed on Tm gives the most noise ? took the US2 out again replaced with the other transducer no noise what else ? does HB or MK have something to fix this or do I just need to do away with the US2 ? and mount the transducer on the motor ? noise fills about 1/2 the screen on the 565 takes out most of the bottom, maybe I just need to keep it off 1/2 speeds , LOL THANKS

HB makes a big honker common mode choke. I believe HB sells a guess bag of gadgets to help with the noise on the HB side imaging units. The are just swagging like us. Try this, if not try this, etc.

We have covered some basics, but HB may have other suggestions. I doubt it though. Give HB a call. They nice folks.

I will be looking into the noise issues whenever I have a chance to get to the lake for a few days. I have an oscilloscope there and I will "scope" some stuff out. ha. I have a little noise coming from the us2. I will check different speeds and see if I can come up with the frequency that causes the interference.

I can't do too much at present as I am still caregiver for my wife. She is getting better.
