Thread: 898c SI needs help before i throw it in the lake!

Crappiegirl, I don't have anything important to add to the conversation, but you got me thinking about my own fish symbols. Do they show up when in demo mode on the unit, but just not when in real world use? I can't get on the water for a few more weeks, and was wondering.

yes, let me know please. several others are checking as well. i am getting some symbols but not like i should when i compare it to my other one running up front.

UPDATE: just in from fishing --not too productive--water getting way to warm---good news---more fish symbols---not as many as should be (in my opinion)
bad news--symbols and depth number is so small, you have to really look for it---bummer--will try arches tomorrow. downside--i still retain a reading at low speed, but no fish symbol at low speed. only when the boat is sitting, motor off. STRANGE! going to tilt the lss-1 a tad more down tomorrow. maybe the sonar too---we will see--this is way toooo much work------------am close, but no there yet---getting really tired of this-------the fish symbols is really the biggest downside to me, the size, even if i can get them all to read properly---not liking that at all-----

ps you people with the arches, are they any bigger?

yeah, but it depends on the depth. in 100ft of water they'll be small. in 20ft or less they'd be a bit bigger. I only use 2d on the trolling motor and never use fish id.

in 10 ft of water the fish symbols are no bigger than a pin head and the depth script no better. really the depth script you cannt hardly read its so little

how big are your arches?
